Garland Pilates offers a comprehensive Classical training that honors the integrity of Joseph Pilates’ method while preparing teachers to work with real bodies in a real studio setting. The program includes education across the full system, including:
- Reformer, Mat, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair
- Barrels, Ped-o-Pul, Guillotine, and auxiliary apparatus
- Hands-on cueing, spotting, and Classical corrections
- Apprentice teaching hours and supervised practice
- Observation, written exams, and performance assessments
This is not just choreography. It is an education in how to see the body, understand the system, and teach with clarity, order, and purpose.
How Breakthrough Pilates Fits In
Breakthrough Pilates is not the site of apprenticeship for the Garland program at this time. Apprenticeship is completed through Garland Pilates under the direction of Trish Garland.
What we do offer is meaningful preparation. For trainees who want to raise their level before auditioning, strengthen their execution, or better understand the Classical system, Breakthrough Pilates can provide a strong environment to refine the work.
